Our range of poly water tanks are available in slim line styles up to 5,000 litres and round tank styles up to 46,400 litres. For larger storage solutions, our steel liner tanks are available in a range of sizes up to 360,000 litres.

Even though our rainwater tanks are robust, there is a chance that an unsecured, empty water tank will blow over in strong winds. It’s best to keep at least a little water for stability.

Possible reasons that water tanks are empty:

• It’s been a very dry season
• You’ve used more water in the tank than from the mains
• There is a leak, usually created by rodents or vegetation
• The ground wasn’t properly cleared of rocks and roots.

Rainwater tanks need regular maintenance to ensure they are clean and undamaged. Clear debris from the roof and gutters. Clean the pre-filtration system, tank strainer, and first flush diverter. Ensure that there are no overhanging tree branches. Clean the bottom of the water tank regularly to prevent sludge.

It is recommended to use a pump so that your tank water has the same pressure as mains. A Rainsaver change over-system allows you to switch between rainwater and mains automatically. We prefer to use the Bianco RS6-INOX45S2MPCX Rainsaver change-over system. The unit is water marked and approved for connection to mains water. The system ensures no cross-contamination of mains and tank water.

All Bushmans products are rigorously quality tested and guaranteed. Our factories are accredited to manufacture tanks to the AS4766 quality standard which means that regular testing is performed on our rainwater tanks, including ultrasounds and drop tests.

Water can smell if the tanks haven’t been properly cleaned or if the cleaning systems are damaged. Check the first flush diverter and strainer for accumulated debris. Make sure the bottom isn’t covered in sludge. If you suspect contamination, contact us for advice.

Yes. Rainwater tanks are made from plastic approved for drinking water. However, you should also install approved filtration systems and ensure the water goes through a proper treatment process before you drink it.
